How to fit it
A wall mount, not a pressure fit. That is the whole reason it stays where you put it.

Three things owners keep telling us.
Mostly bought for the one doorway a dog will not stop going through.

Why retractable beats a pressure-fit gate
Retractable Pet Gate

The one doorway they will not stop using.
A pressure-fit gate across a garage opening lasts about a week. This one screws to the wall, pulls out to 79 inches, and disappears back into a slim post when you do not need it.

Questions owners ask
No. It is sold and tested as a pet gate and it is not certified to ASTM F1004, the federal standard that child safety gates sold in the US have to meet. If you need a barrier for a baby or toddler, buy a gate that states ASTM F1004 compliance. We would rather lose the sale than have you use the wrong product.
No. Mesh gates can be leaned into and pushed under at the bottom edge. Do not fit this at the top of a staircase, for a pet or anything else.
The mesh pulls out to 79″ (200cm), and the gate stands 41″ (104cm) tall. It works in a normal doorway too — the mesh only extends as far as you pull it. Measure at gate height rather than at the floor, since skirting and frames narrow the gap.
Yes. It is a wall mount, not a pressure fit, which is the reason it stays put. Four brackets and the screws are included. You need a solid fixing on both sides — stud, masonry or a door frame. Plasterboard on its own will not hold a dog leaning on it.
That is what the included spacers are for — 2 bracket spacers and 2 hook spacers, covering boards from 5 to 15mm. Most brands sell these separately.
At 41″ it is tall enough that most dogs will not attempt it, and the mesh is taut. It will not stop a determined climber or a dog that chews fabric, and it is not a substitute for supervision.
Damp cloth and mild soap. Let it dry fully extended before retracting it — rolling damp mesh into the post is how it starts to smell. No machine washing, bleach or solvents.
